Adding a Device

Once your Chargemetrix hardware has arrived you will need to add it to our cloud platform to start receiving and viewing your data on the dashboards.


First, please ensure that the device you are adding has first been installed correctly, following the instructions provided in the accompanying guide found in the product box.


Once your device has been fitted, you can add it to the Chargemetrix platform.


We recommend that you add a new device with the mobile app for ease of use.

The Chargemetrix app is available for free for iOS and Android devices in the App Store.


Adding a Device via the Mobile App

  1. Open the Chargemetrix app and log into your account. 

  2. Navigate to the bottom tab labeled "Add", indicated by a "+" icon.


Here is where you can add any new device to the platform.


  • You'll be prompted to enter your device number, a unique alphanumeric code displayed on the front of your device and also on the product box alongside a QR code


  • You can enter this device number manually or conveniently scan the QR code using your phone's camera. Simply select the highlighted QR symbol, as shown in the below screenshot, for scanning.



  • When you select this option, a pop-up window will appear, activating your phone camera for QR code scanning. This action will automatically fill the entry field with the device number once the QR has been recognised.


  • After the field is populated with the device number, proceed by selecting the 'Next' button to advance to the next screen.


  • Here, you can add the name for your device. This name should be different to the device number you entered previously.
  • For example, in this scenario, we've named the device 'Campervan 1'. You can choose any name that best suits your needs or application to easily track your device.


  • Once you have entered a suitable name, proceed by selecting the 'Next' button to move to the next screen.


  • The following screen will take you to a list of icons for you to choose for your device. 
  • In this example, we have selected the campervan icon. 
  • Upon selection, the chosen icon will be highlighted with a green box.


  • Once you are happy with the icon selection, simply click the 'Next' button to save your selection and progress to the next screen. 


  • On this screen, you will be prompted to choose the device tariff that best suits your needs.
  • We offer either a monthly or yearly subscription plan. 


Please ensure that your account has a valid credit or debit card connected to avoid any interruptions in service.


  • Once you have selected a tariff, it will be marked as 'Selected', allowing you to proceed to the next screen by clicking the 'Next' button.


  • This will lead you to the final screen, as depicted below.

  • This page displays a summary of the details you've entered for your device. 
  • If needed, you can edit any information from previous pages by selecting the 'Return' button.
  • Once you're satisfied with the information provided, simply click 'Create' to add your device to your account. 
  • Your device will then be visible on the platform.


Please allow up to 20 minutes for your device data to be collected and begin displaying on the platform.


Adding a Device via the Web Browser

 

  1. Access your account at chargemetrix.app through your web browser (we recommend using the latest version of Chrome).
  2. Click on 'Add Device' located in the navigation bar, as shown below.



  • After clicking this button, a pop-up will appear, prompting you to enter the device number. 
  • This number corresponds to the unique alphanumeric code displayed on the front of your device and also on the product box.


  •  Once you have entered the device number, click 'Next' to proceed. 


  • This will take you to the following screen where you will be prompted to enter the device name. 

  • The device name should be different to the device number you entered previously. 
  • This is the name which will show in the dashboard for your asset. For example, this could be something like 'New Forest Cabin' or 'Solar Gate 1', to suit your application. 


  • After entering your device name and clicking 'Next', you'll be prompted to select an icon for your asset from a scrollable list.

 


  • Upon selection, the chosen icon will be highlighted with a green box.
  • Once you have selected your icon you click on 'Next' to proceed.


  • This will direct you to our tariff page for your device, which is required to access the data from the device on our cloud platform. 


 

  • We offer either a monthly or yearly subscription plan. 
  • Select the plan that best fits your requirements, and then proceed to the next page by selecting 'Next' again.


Please ensure that your account has a valid credit or debit card connected to avoid any interruptions in service.


  • Once you have selected your tarriff, the next step will be the verify all the information you have provided as shown below.



  • If you need to edit any of the information provided you can click on 'Back' to return to previous pages.
  • The final step is now to click on 'Add Device'. 
  • Your new device will now be added to your dashboard to start collecting the data and using Chargemetrix fully. 


Please allow up to 20 minutes for your device data to be collected and begin displaying on the platform.
